Eligibility

To be eligible for membership* in this Society a man or woman, of any nationality,
must be at least 18 years of age, of good moral character, and be descended from a
person residing in Fort Orange, the Colony of Rensselaerswijck, or the Village of
Beverwijck before 1665, and/or in other areas subject to the jurisdiction of the Court
of Rensselaerswijck prior to the establishment of their own courts.

NOTE: The court at Esopus (Kingston, New York) was established on May 16, 1661.
Settlers from that area are eligible prior to that date

*An individual not otherwise eligible for regular membership or pending approval of
regular membership who has signified his or her interest in and the promotion of the
purposes of the Society may apply for an Associate level membership
Levels

ANNUAL:
$20.00 Annually

JOINT:(husband and wife)
$23.00 Annually

ASSOCIATE:*
$20.00 Annually

LIFE:
$250.00

New members (Except Life) pay a $40.00 Admission Fee which includes first year's
dues and a membership pin featuring the Society's seal.

Dues are due and payable on June 1st each year thereafter.

*An Associate level of membership was established in 1992. An individual not
otherwise eligible for regular membership or pending approval of regular membership
who has signified his or her interest in and the promotion of the purposes of the
Society may apply.

The applicant shall be recommended by **two regular members of the Society. The
number of Associate Members at any one time shall not exceed one quarter of the
total membership at that time.

Dues for Associate Membership shall be the same as that of Regular Membership.  An
Associate Member is not eligible to vote, hold office, or be a Member of the Executive
Committee.

The Treasurer is custodian of the Society's Insignia and new members of the Society
will receive a pin along with a certificate of membership following approval.  Additional
pins may be purchased for $5.00 each.
