The Dutch Settlers Society of Albany

I am a retired Presbyterian minister in Baltimore, Maryland. My interest in the Dutch Settlers' Society of Albany goes back to my 2g grandfather, 3 g grandfather, and down to the 7th g grandfather. They began as "Scherps" and soon after the Colony became New York the spelling was changed to Sharp.

I was privledged to serve in a church in Albany with many Dutch member, and at the young age of 28 became their Domine. Our son, John R. Sharp Jr. was also born at the Albany Medical Center. And we maintain contacts with friends form our years in Albany before moving to a church in Newark, NY and then to Baltimaore, MD.
