Those who practice teaching have encountered the phrase, "Those who can, do; those who can't, teach." A career in secondary social studies education has refuted this; in fact, the career of Mr. Jones affirms that: Those who teach, also do.
A licensed social science educator, Mr. Jones has delivered standards-based instruction in US/VA history, US history & government, geography, and world history. He is especially proud of being the founding social studies educator of a STEM secondary school, a partnership between Columbia University, the City of New York, and the Upper Manhattan community.
Mr. Jones' career in education also confirms that those who teach, do. He has been:
1- Project manager, of a capstone experience to Washington, DC to study the role of George Washington in the origin and evolution of America,
2- Parliamentarian, authoring amendments to the bylaws of the local community board, considered "City Hall in the community",
3- Partner, with a new American non-profit organization to capture funding by leveraging historic designation,
4- Public speaker, on the origin and evolution of the City of New York.
