Queen Bea abdicates; but "Betty and Phil"--as the some 20% republicans in UK and 'Commonwealth Countries--think Australia, Canada--want QE, II to abdicate, and NOT in favour (sic.) of Charlie nor "Wills" but more like the idea that 'they' had during their English Civil War, do-away-with the Monarchy. But many still say it's the very-idea, the 'symbol' that is important. As in unupper-One Per Center as model? Nonsense; but "they" think us Yanks are bumpkins, anyway. UK English: "If things don't change they'll stay as they are," and after? Too 'scary' for them.

Greetings to all from The Netherland Club tomorow as we watch a live feed on internet of the Dutch celebrations. I will be participating on Netherlands Channel 2 at 6:50-55 Dutch time as part of the ManBijtHond TV show. My greetings to His majesty King Willem Alexander on behalf of Dutch Americans was filmed via Skype earlier this week. I make the promise to attend King's day April 27th next year and would love to hear from other Society members who might want to return then and be with us as we participate in the festivities next year! By the way - the Dutch peoples' gift is to set up a Facebook Page and "Like" the Gift to Dutch King page which then has the record as most viewed on the planet!

For you "Albanians" (per NY, NYers, who call Toronto--locally "T.O."--"TZero) here is a bit of Historic Schenectady Stocade iconography, courtesy of www.schist.org at the SCHS, then:"126 years ago today, "Lawrence" was born. September 12, 1887 was the day that the iconic statue was erected at the intersection of Front, Ferry, and Green Streets, to commemorate the site of the fort that had been at that intersection. The statue had been ordered by the city from the J.L. Mott Iron Works in the Bronx. Although he's been a special part of the Stockade neighborhood for over a century, Lawrence isn't exactly unique; in his more generic form, he was known as No. 53 Indian Chief in the Mott catalogue. There have been over 25 statues identical to Lawrence found around the world -- from Mount Kisco, New York, to Calhoun, Georgia, to Ishpeming, Michigan, to Cuzco, Peru. In addition to his iron base, Lawrence came with basins -- the statue can also operate as a fountain, although it does not appear that Lawrence ever did. For a time, these basins were set out to water horses and were separated from Lawrence by a fence." So, now you know.

Bradts from Norway, and others, taketh note: From: Case Stoodley,  Subject: Norway's Prime Minister "secretly Moonlighted" as cabbie in Oslo, June 2013. 12 August 2013, Toronto, ON, The  Globe and Mail (globeandmail.com), forwarded, credits to  "AP" and "Reuters." Oslo, Published "on Sunday by the daily  newspaper VG." The article in today's Globe and Mail, A-2: "Norwegian Prime Minister moonlights [last June 2013] as  taxi driver in campaign stunt."  The Norwegian federal elections are scheduled for 9 September 2013, Norway's Prime  Minister Mr. Jens Stolenberg (Labour party), "who has led  the Scandinavian country for the past eight years, confessed  he was not used to driving as he usually sits at the back of  his chauffeured car." Prime Minister Stoltenberg and his  "PR" team chose this ruse, he said: "'If there is one place  where people say what they really mean about most things, it  is in a taxi. Right from the gut,' he told VG." [Oslo, Norway, daily paper.] All the activities and comedic moments were, "filmed on hidden cameras. A video of the event was published Sunday by the daily newspaper VG and on the Prime Minister's Facebook page." [CCS: A must-go-to?]  Paragraph one, Toronto's Globe and Mail, as above cited:  "Norway's Pyime Minister, Jens Stoltenburg, worked secretly  as a taxi driver in central Oslo for a day in June [2013],  leaving his passengers wondering whether their elected  leader had quit his day job." One 'clip' from the on board  camera is captioned "Norwegian Prim Minister Jens  Stoltenberg laughed and joked with taxi passengers in Oslo."  Photo credits: "Norwegian Labour [sic.] Party/AP." He only  agreed, as to his true identity, with passengers when he was outed, as with one woman saying: "'From this angle you  really look like Stoltenberg.' An elderly woman says she was  glad to meet the Prime Minister because she had been wanting  to send him a letter." All in all the publicity effort seems  to have been a total success. He even got noted by the  "BEEB"--the BBC, which reported "that some of the passengers  who appear in the film had been told to wait for a taxi, although without being told who would  be driving..." &c. The real results will be seen after  the electoral polls close on 9 September 2013, as ever; remember the Truman vs Dewey election? Ms Cynthia Brot Biasca (1928-) does, as she was so glad to be home from her war-time nursing job in England--after her birthday, Harry Truman's too: "VE-Day" 8 May 1945. Cousin Charles Case Stoodley submitting as  'timely' considering the Bradt Family Society tour, including Oslo, Norway, the summer of 2013.

In passing: Charles Case Stoodley, member Human Race--DNA proved! This quotable quote came from my readings eclectic, for you, HDT: "The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it." mSounds-like ENSLAVEMENT to our genealogy research, but if it/Van Patten-Bradt-Maybee is voluntary, dedicated for future gen's, it's a gift to "the grand-kinder. Our rationalization? Or just passing along our knowledge, as our ancestors did to/for us!

HI

need to find an index to the yearbooks, researching Andries Hansen Scherp of Kinderhook, there are lots of errors in earlier publications (Collier, Munsell, Pearson)

ggydonna,  you just need to send the proofs that connect to your sisters, once your application is approved if it hasn't been already

I can't seem to find this info on the website and I can't find anyone to email except you guys! So, I have 2 sisters who want to join and I need to know what I need to send -- obviously I've supplied all the proofs, and all that will be different is my sisters -- do I need to send copies of all the docs again, or just of their birth/marriage certs showing we share parents?

TIA, Donna
